Sunsafe-BS (Butyloctyl Salicylate) is a synthetically produced ester of Salicylic Acid and a branched C12 alcohol (2-Butyloctanol). It is a highly polar, low-viscosity liquid designed as a multifunctional ingredient for sun care, skin care, and color cosmetics. Beyond its role as an emollient, it serves as a superior solvent for crystalline UV filters and an effective dispersing agent for inorganic pigments.

1. Photostabilization & SPF Boosting: It significantly enhances the in vivo SPF performance by stabilizing photolabile UV filters (such as Avobenzone). It quenches the excited state of molecules, preventing photodegradation.
