ActiTide-PT7 / Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7

Short Description:

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is the main component of immunoglobulins in human serum and the most abundant antibody in the body. ActiTide-PT7 is a palmitoylated derivative of the Gly-Gln-Pro-Arg (GQPR) tetrapeptide, derived from a structural fragment (341-344) of the immunoglobulin G heavy chain. Studies have shown that the GQPR tetrapeptide can stimulate macrophages and neutrophils, enhancing phagocytic activity. Additionally, GQP is a common tripeptide sequence found in type IV collagen. As a skin conditioning agent, ActiTide-PT7 can inhibit the secretion of inflammatory cytokines (IL-6), promote the synthesis of laminin, fibronectin, and collagen, reduce skin wrinkles, and has soothing and firming effects.

Application

ActiTide-PT7 is an active peptide that mimics a fragment of immunoglobulin IgG. Modified with palmitoylation, it exhibits enhanced stability and transdermal absorption capacity, enabling more effective penetration into the skin to exert its function.

Core Mechanism of Action: Regulating Inflammation:

Targeting Key Factor: Its core mechanism lies in significantly reducing the production of the pro-inflammatory cytokine Interleukin-6 (IL-6).

Alleviating Inflammatory Response: IL-6 is a key mediator in skin inflammatory processes. High concentrations of IL-6 exacerbate inflammation, accelerate the breakdown of collagen and other important skin structural proteins, thereby promoting skin aging. Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 acts on skin keratinocytes and fibroblasts through signal stimulation, regulating inflammatory responses, particularly by inhibiting the excessive release of IL-6 from white blood cells.

Dose-Dependent Inhibition: Laboratory studies confirm it inhibits IL-6 production in a dose-dependent manner; higher concentrations yield more significant inhibitory effects (up to 40% maximum inhibition rate).

Highly Effective Against Photo-Damage: In cases where ultraviolet (UV) radiation induces massive IL-6 production, cells treated with Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 show an inhibition rate of IL-6 production up to 86%.

Primary Efficacy and Benefits:

Soothes and Reduces Inflammation: By effectively inhibiting inflammatory factors like IL-6, it alleviates inappropriate skin inflammatory reactions, reducing redness and discomfort.

Protects Against Environmental Damage: Helps maintain the balance of skin cytokines, protecting the skin from environmental damage (such as UV radiation) and glycation damage.

Promotes Even Skin Tone: Reducing inflammation helps improve skin redness and other uneven tone issues, potentially helping to brighten the complexion for a more even skin tone.

Delays Signs of Aging: By reducing inflammation and preventing collagen breakdown, it helps combat aging signs such as wrinkles and sagging.

Synergistic Enhancement: When combined with other active ingredients (such as Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1), for example in the Matrixyl 3000 complex, it produces synergistic effects, enhancing overall anti-aging results.

Application:

ActiTide-PT7 is widely used in skincare products, particularly playing an important role in skin repair, anti-inflammatory soothing, and anti-wrinkle firming products.
